Meet the Teacher

Hello!  The 2016-2017 school year will be my seventh year teaching and my third year as a kindergarten teacher.  Although I hold a degree in elementary education, previously I taught ESL for four years at the elementary and high school level.  I learned a lot during that time but I am also excited to have a classroom now.  People ask me which I prefer, and honestly the jobs are very different.  I love having my own space and the creativity that being a kindergarten teacher allows, but English language learners still hold a special place in my heart.  I am working on a master's degree in ESOL literacy that I will finish (Lord willing!) in December of 2016.

In my spare time (because we all know teachers need balance in their lives!) I enjoy running, reading, learning to knit, drinking coffee, and eating chocolate.  I love my Catholic faith and large family.  Both help me keep the right perspective on life.  A few blunt observations from my kinder kiddies always help, too.  :)

My goals for my blog are simple: to network with others and provide an outlet for sharing reflections, ideas, and day-to-day experiences about teaching.  I'm fairly new to the world of blogging and don't sell any products, but love seeing and implementing what other teachers have created!

Thanks for stopping by as I share thoughts, ideas, and inspiration from a teacher's heart!
